Hello! I’m Patrick.

Patrick Holloman, MA, LPC (He/Him/His)

Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado Springs, CO

The human experience is a wild one. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming and feel like more than we can bear. Fear can keep us stuck. Pain can wear us down. We box ourselves into a limiting identity. We fall into unhealthy coping strategies, addictions, self-sabotage, and self-hatred. The one thing needed to heal and grow is just a little courage. Courage to ask for help and risk being vulnerable. Courage to challenge who we think we are and feel the emotions we think are too great to allow.
There is nothing more energizing and fulfilling to me than making genuine human connections and accompanying others as they navigate challenging times. I am honored to walk a while with you on your journey back to your genuine self: the you who thrives instead of simply existing. I do not see people as their mistakes, issues, or diagnoses. I am interested in knowing you and helping you navigate the suffering that is holding you back. All clients are welcome, and I honor your courage to take a step to invest in yourself.

Client focus: Adults, Teens, Couples

Concerns I help with: Anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, relationships issues, life transitions, stress management, spirituality, men’s issues, domestic violence, addictions, mindfulness, meditation practice, suicidal ideation, coping skills, and mood disorders.

My Approach – Therapist in Colorado Springs, CO

I believe our psychological state depends not so much on what we experience, but on how we relate to our experiences. Pain, whether physical or emotional, is an unavoidable part of life. However, we tend to add suffering to the pain through our thinking. Suffering is unpleasant but it also shows us where we are stuck. In developing our awareness, there is the possibility to learn to observe and be with what simply IS and begin to free ourselves from our unskillful cycles and behaviors.

My most commonly used modalities include Buddhist psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), existential therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, strengths-based approaches, meditative practices, and Gottman method couples counseling.
