About Haley Wise, MS, LPC
EMDR Therapist in Colorado Springs, CO
Hey, I’m Haley!
Haley Wise, MS, LPC (She/Her)
Owner, Clinical Supervisor, Licensed Professional Counselor
EMDR Trained Therapist in Colorado Springs, CO
I am passionate about helping individuals move through life’s most challenging situations.
If you’re stuck in a pattern of anxious thinking, people pleasing, struggling with grief, recovering from trauma, feeling haunted by past memories, or are having difficulty navigating a past or present relationship, I’d love to help.
I provide counseling services to empower individuals who are healing from relational wounds and who are adapting to difficult life transitions. I also enjoy helping individuals meet their career and lifestyle goals.
My aim is to help you move toward a life of greater authenticity, in alignment with your own values and purpose.
What do my clients love about having me as their therapist? Authenticity. Realness. Ambition. I don’t ascribe to the old school belief that therapists shouldn’t be real people in sessions. I’m not a blank slate, but I can still hold space for you. When we aren’t working on your past, experiencing the present, or making your future more awesome, we will probably be laughing about something we have in common, and enjoying being imperfect humans together.
A little bit about me.... Because who wants to work with a stranger?
I am a mountain gal, originally from the Appalachians, but relocated to the Rockies. You might see me out hiking on a trail, riding my motorcycle through a mountain pass, or attempting to snowboard.
Curiosity is one of my highest values. I love learning about how people think and live differently than me. My other identity is being a solo traveler. I have found joy through having nothing other than a backpack and a plane ticket to a new land, filled with people who speak a different language. Don’t worry- I have no plans for leaving the country anytime soon. (Thanks Rona!)
I decided to become a therapist after traveling in 28 countries and pursuing research and lived experience in areas of mindfulness, self-compassion, and well-being. I realized that helping others one on one brought a sense of purpose to my life.
A little bit about my practice..
After several years of working in inpatient settings, community mental health, and private practices, I realized that I wanted to do things differently in my own practice. It became apparent pretty quickly that regular talk therapy isn’t always enough to resolve anxiety, depression, and PTSD triggers. I also found that the traditional insurance format of 50 minute sessions wasn’t always the best for my clients who are seeking healing from trauma.
EMDR changed how I help clients, and how I healed from my own past experiences. Rather than just telling clients to change their thinking patterns, EMDR offers another way. EMDR gets to the root of what started anxiety, negative self-beliefs, and body based distress in the first place. EMDR can be used as a stand alone therapy, or as an adjunct therapy to standard talk therapy.
I, like you, searched in every direction for peace and freedom from my past experiences. I would like to share what I have learned and help you experience it for yourself. These days, the quickest and most effective way I work with clients is through EMDR Intensives, which you can learn more about here.
